January 21st, 2015
Congratulations to Class of 2011 alumnus Andrew Wolverton who was selected in the fourth round of the two-day MLS SuperDraft to play soccer with the Los Angeles Galaxy. The Penn State four-year starter wrapped up his collegiate career as the all-time leader in shutouts (32) and goals against average (0.53).
According to St. Pius X Head Coach David O'Shea, "It is a wonderful opportunity for Andrew and one that is very much deserved. As a high school goalkeeper it was always evident that Andrew had the ability and drive to make it at a higher level. To be drafted into the MLS and to be picked by a club with the prestige of the L.A. Galaxy is a testament to his hard work and commitment. Everyone involved with SPX soccer is immensely proud of him and we look forward to watching his professional career flourish."
